41
上帝對以色列的保證
上帝說：
諸海島啊，要肅靜，要聽我的話！
萬民哪，要聚精會神！
你們來申訴吧；
讓我們一起辨明是非吧。
神對以色列的保證
眾海島啊，當在我面前靜默；
眾民當重新得力，
都要近前來才可以說話，
我們可以彼此辯論。
Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
2 誰從東方引來那征服者( 「東方……征服者」：指波斯帝國的皇帝塞魯士（見45‧1）。)，
使他所向無敵？
誰使他戰勝許多國家，
打敗了許多君王？
他的刀殺人，如摧枯拉朽；
他的箭射人，使他們像風前的禾稭。
2 誰從東方興起一人，
憑公義召他來到腳前呢？
耶和華將列國交給他，
使他管轄君王，
把他們如灰塵交與他的刀，
如風吹的碎稭交與他的弓。
2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow. the righteous...: Heb. righteousness
3 他追趕他們，穩然前進，
快速如腳不落地。
3 他追趕他們，
走他所未走的道，
坦然前行。
3 He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet. safely: Heb. in peace
4 誰使這事發生？
誰決定歷史的方向？
我─上主從開始就在那裏，
在終結的時候，我也在那裏。
4 誰行做成就這事，
從起初宣召歷代呢？
就是我－耶和華！
我是首先的，
也與末後的同在。
4 Who hath wrought and done it , calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
5 諸海島看見我就恐懼；
遙遠的人也都害怕得發抖。
他們都來了，聚集在一起。
5 海島看見就都害怕；
地極也都戰兢，
就近前來。
5 The isles saw it , and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.
6 他們的匠人彼此幫助，
互相鼓勵說：拿出勇氣來！
6 他們各人幫助鄰舍，
(各人)對弟兄說：壯膽吧！
6 They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. Be...: Heb. Be strong
7 木匠對金匠說：你的手藝不錯；
鑄造偶像的工匠誇獎釘釘子的木匠，
恭維說：你們做得好啊。
他們用釘子把偶像釘牢，
使它牢靠穩固。
7 木匠勉勵銀匠，
用鎚打光的勉勵打砧的，
論銲工說，銲得好；
又用釘子釘穩，免得(偶像)動搖。
7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved. goldsmith: or, founder him...: or, the smiting saying...: or, saying of the soder, It is good
8 但是，以色列我的僕人哪，
雅各，我所揀選的子民哪，
你是我的朋友亞伯拉罕的子孫。
8 惟你以色列－我的僕人，
雅各－我所揀選的，
我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔，
8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
9 我從天涯海角把你帶來；
我從遙遠的角落呼喚你。
我對你說：你是我的僕人。
我沒有遺棄你，我揀選了你。
9 你是我從地極所領來的，
從地角所召來的，
且對你說：你是我的僕人；
我揀選你，並不棄絕你。
9 Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
10 不要怕，我與你同在；
我是你的上帝，你還怕甚麼呢？
我要使你堅強，要幫助你；
我要保護你，要拯救你。
10 你不要害怕，因為我與你同在；
不要驚惶，因為我是你的上帝。
我必堅固你，我必幫助你；
我必用我公義的右手扶持你。
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 那些對你發怒的人要蒙羞受辱；
欺凌你的人要死亡。
11 凡向你發怒的必都抱愧蒙羞；
與你相爭的必如無有，並要滅亡。
11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. they that strive...: Heb. the men of thy strife
12 你去找跟你打仗的人，卻找不到；
你的敵人要被消滅。
12 與你爭競的，你要找他們也找不着；
與你爭戰的必如無有，成為虛無。
12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. them that...: Heb. the men of thy contention they...: Heb. the men of thy war
13 我是上主─你的上帝；
我要賜給你力量。
我告訴你：不要怕，我要幫助你。
13 因為我耶和華－
你的上帝必攙扶你的右手，
對你說：不要害怕！
我必幫助你。
13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 上主說：
以色列，我的子民哪，
你雖弱小，也不用害怕。
我是救贖主─以色列神聖的上帝；
我要幫助你。
14 你這蟲雅各和你們以色列人，
不要害怕！
耶和華說：我必幫助你。
你的救贖主就是以色列的聖者。
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. men: or, few men
15 我要把你當打榖機，
裝上又新又利的齒；
你要打碎山嶺，毀滅它們；
你要打碎小山，使它們成為灰塵。
15 看哪，我已使你成為
有快齒打糧的新器具；
你要把山嶺打得粉碎，
使岡陵如同糠粃。
15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. teeth: Heb. mouths
16 你要把它們簸揚起來，
讓風吹散，讓巨風把它們颳走。
但是你要歡喜，因為我是你的上主；
你要讚美我─以色列神聖的上帝。
16 你要把它簸揚，風要吹去；
旋風要把它颳散。
你倒要以耶和華為喜樂，
以以色列的聖者為誇耀。
16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 當我窮苦的子民尋求水喝，
當他們喉嚨乾渴，
我上主要垂聽他們的禱告；
我─以色列的上帝不遺棄他們。
17 困苦窮乏人尋求水卻沒有；
他們因口渴，舌頭乾燥。
我－耶和華必應允他們；
我－以色列的上帝必不離棄他們。
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18 我要在荒山中使江河出現，
在山谷中使泉水湧流。
我要使沙漠有湖泊，
使旱地有水源。
18 我要在淨光的高處開江河，
在谷中開泉源；
我要使沙漠變為水池，
使乾地變為湧泉。
18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19 我要在沙漠中種植香柏樹和金合歡樹，
也種番石榴樹和橄欖樹。
曠野中將有松樹、杉樹，和黃楊樹。
19 我要在曠野種上香柏樹、
皂莢樹、番石榴樹，和野橄欖樹。
我在沙漠要把松樹、杉樹，
並黃楊樹一同栽植；
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20 大家一看見就知道，
我是上主；我成就了這一切。
他們會明白，
以色列神聖的上帝使這事實現。
20 好叫人看見、知道、
思想、明白；
這是耶和華的手所做的，
是以色列的聖者所造的。
20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
上主向假神挑戰
21 上主這樣說：
萬國的神明啊，你們來申訴吧。
以色列的王這樣宣佈：
把你們最強的理由提出來！
耶和華向假神挑戰
21 耶和華(對假神)說：
你們要呈上你們的案件；
雅各的君說：
你們要聲明你們確實的理由。
21 Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons , saith the King of Jacob. Produce: Heb. Cause to come near
22 你們來預言將要發生的事，
解釋往事的意義。
來指示我們，
使我們知道這些事情的後果，
預測未來的事件。
22 可以聲明，指示我們將來必遇的事，
說明先前的是甚麼事，
好叫我們思索，得知事的結局，
或者把將來的事指示我們。
22 Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be , that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. consider...: Heb. set our heart upon them
23 讓我們明白將來如何，
我們就知道你們是神明。
做些好事或降些災難，
好使我們驚惶恐懼。
23 要說明後來的事，
好叫我們知道你們是神。
你們或降福，或降禍，
使我們驚奇，一同觀看。
23 Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
24 你們都算不得甚麼；
你們所做的都是虛無；
拜你們的人卑鄙可惡！
24 看哪，你們屬乎虛無；
你們的作為也屬乎虛空。
那選擇你們的是可憎惡的。
24 Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you. of nothing: or, worse than nothing of nought: or, worse than of a viper
25 我已經在東方( 見41‧2和41‧2註33。)選定一個人；
我要他從北方來攻擊你們。
他踐踏君王，像踩踏污泥，
像窯匠踩踏泥土。
25 我從北方興起一人；
他是求告我名的，
從日出之地而來。
他必臨到掌權的，
好像臨到灰泥，
彷彿窰匠踹泥一樣。
25 I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
26 你們當中有誰預言這事的發生，
使我們可以說他沒有錯誤呢？
你們當中誰都沒有提起這樣的事；
沒有人聽見你們說過這樣的話。
26 誰從起初指明這事，使我們知道呢？
誰從先前說明，使我們說(他)不錯呢？
誰也沒有指明；
誰也沒有說明；
誰也沒有聽見你們的話。
26 Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
27 我─上主首先把這好消息報給錫安；
我打發使者到耶路撒冷說：
你們的同胞回來了！
27 我首先對錫安(說)：
看哪，我要將一位報好信息的賜給耶路撒冷。
27 The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.
28 我看看所有的神明，
沒有一個有話可說；
沒有一個會回答我的問題。
28 我看的時候並沒有人；
我問的時候，
他們中間也沒有謀士可以回答一句。
28 For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word. answer: Heb. return
29 所有的神明都胸無一策；
它們都軟弱無能，
一事無成。
29 看哪，他們和他們的工作都是虛空，
且是虛無。
他們所鑄的偶像都是風，
都是虛的。
29 Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.
